Sprout Fund has completed its fourth investment in another Western Canadian startup – Victoria-based health-tech communications company, Care2Talk. The company has successfully completed a $1 million fundraise from a group of Canadian investors including Sprout Fund, Mavan Capital, E-Fund, WUTIF, and Cindicates.
Care2Talk (www.care2talk.io) provides a simple-to-use cloud platform for seniors to use in care homes that improves their access to caregivers and loved ones. The need came out of the founder’s own experience when he noticed the impact isolation was having on many residents at his grandfather’s assisted living facility. After investigating, he realized that traditional communications solutions were too complex to use and required assistance from staff in order to start calls to doctors, pharmacists, or family members, which further stretched already thin resources.
“During and after the pandemic, I knew it was time to start making a difference in senior care as 20% of our population will be over 65 by 2030. We’re thrilled to see our usage grow rapidly on simple connectivity. Care2Talk has already gained incredible early adoption with assisted living facilities across the country.
